Founding members of the Board of Trustees:

 

Valerie Zingapan, MD is President of the Board of Trustees.  She is a Board Certified emergency room physician.  She practices at the Buffalo General Hospital and is a Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine at SUNY Buffalo Medical School.  Dr. Zingapan-Castiglia is a member of numerous professional and civic organizations including the Nichols School Board of Trustees.   Dr. Zingapan-Castiglia has three children at MSJA. 

 

Joseph Petrella, is Vice- President of the Board of Trustees and co-owner of City View Properties, a local real estate development and management firm.  He is also an alumnus of Mount St. Joseph and has four children currently enrolled at the school. 

 

Michael J. Roach, Esq. is Secretary of the Board of Trustees.  Mr. Roach is a Partner in the law firm of Connors and Vilardo, LLP.    His practice is concentrated in the area of litigation including medical malpractice defense.  Mr. Roach has two children at MSJA.

 

Stephen Boyd, Esq. is Treasurer of the Board of Trustees.   He is also a partner in the law firm of O’Brien Boyd, PC.  A former television and radio journalist, Mr. Boyd spent ten years as a reporter and anchor at WKBW-TV.   He has four children at MSJA.

 

Fred Luongo, D.D.S. is a dentist with a private practice in the City of Buffalo.  In addition to two children currently enrolled at the Mount, Dr. Luongo’s two daughters are both alumnae of MSJA.

 

 

Trustees:

 

Patti L. Jacobs   In addition to her role as a board member at MSJA, Mrs. Jacobs is an active member of the Erie County Youth Board, the entity charged with directing state funds to youth related organizations throughout Erie County.  She has a son enrolled at the Mount, and is married to local businessman and former New York Secretary of State Christopher L. Jacobs, a Mount Alumnus.

 

Reverend Elfonzo Roberson is a District Superintendent of the New York Western Second Jurisdiction of the Churches of God in Christ.  Reverend Roberson oversees 12 Churches of God in Christ communities in Western New York.  He has one child enrolled at MSJA and has also enrolled several families from his congregation.

 

Amy M. Schmit is the Vice President for Public Affairs of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership.  She previously managed a public management research project at Syracuse University, and worked on Capitol Hill as a congressional staff aide. Ms. Schmit is a graduate of MSJA.

 

Mark B. Kostrzewski is a Principal Partner in BPG Consulting, an investment firm specializing in the implementation of financial strategies for business owners.   

 

Carmen L. Snell is Assistant General Counsel for HealthNow New York, Inc, the leading healthcare company in Western New York.  Carmen lives in Buffalo, and has two girls at MSJA.

 

Henry L. Burns is an Associate Vice President of Investments for A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc.   A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Burns also graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in 1954.
